It is rather strange that the idea of creating this category — and the articles I would write and publish in it — came to me only two months after launching the site. I kept feeling that something very important was missing, but I could not work out what it was.

Then it finally dawned on me: the most important thing was missing — my own path, my own experience, my own route. That is why I gave this essential category its name. Without it, the site was simply another blog. A blog written by an alcoholic in recovery, perhaps, but still — just a blog.

Here I will share:

  • my own experience;
  • the steps I took — those that led to success and those that led to failure — so that every “colleague” and fellow sufferer might avoid some of the landmines and traps on the road to freedom;
  • how my attitude and outlook changed, both towards life as a whole and towards its individual aspects.

I have tried to organise my experience and use it to create a kind of framework — or route — that helped me climb out of that swamp, out of the hell I entered after becoming addicted to the bottle.

Every stop, every point along this route will include a detailed explanation of:

  • why it matters;
  • why these particular actions gave me the result I needed: freedom.

The first articles will appear very soon. I have only just created this page. 16 May 2026.
